How Hard is It to Buy an Apartment in Manhattan?
The front page of the Real Estate section in yesterday's New York Times had a long article about the invasive process of being approved to buy a co-operative apartment in Manhattan. I found this article particularly interesting and timely since my wife and I met tonight with the Board of a co-operative in which we'd like to buy an apartment. And last night, TV Land televised the episode of Taxi where Penny Marshall (in a cameo role as herself) moons a co-op Board that rejects her. Things seemed to go better than that tonight (the Times seems to have exaggerated as usual). We'll know for sure tomorrow.
