What's Happening in Your Fantasy World?
While visiting my aunt and cousins in Connecticut, I was unfortunate enough to use the candy-colored abomination that is Windows XP. While showing my cousins sites for international news, I noticed that the BBC News site doesn't render properly in the Windows XP version of Internet Explorer. The site renders perfectly in Mozilla-based browsers for Windows and Macintosh and the Macintosh version of Internet Explorer. I also ran into the same problem viewing this very site.
I find this interesting because I've only ever heard about all of the sites that only work properly in Internet Explorer for Windows, though I haven't actually encountered such a site in quite some time. So based on my limited experience over the last couple of months, I'm going to declare that the tide has shifted and the Web has become standards-compliant, to the detriment of Microsoft.
