Am I Ready To Leave Home?

I spent another evening tinkering with iBlog. If you're interested, you can watch my progress as I attempt to re-create Gnosis with another tool. I'm growing increasingly confident that I'll be able to do everything that I'd like with iBlog. If so, I'm planning to move Gnosis from the Salon Radio UserLand community. Some have left the Salon community, while continuing to use Radio, and others have left all together. It has been encouraging to see that they haven't been forgotten, and I hope that I wouldn't be either.

There are several reasons for the move. As much as I love being part of the Salon community, I've had enough of the vagaries of the Radio software, the ongoing performance problems with the Salon Radio Community Server, and the subscription model for the Radio software. The deciding factor was finding myself with a "trial" copy of the software that stubbornly refuses to accept my activation code after I updated my operating system. So even if I wanted to stay I might not be able to. I look forward to using software that is both simple to use and wholly transparent, to having an application that creates straight forward local and remote versions of my content, and to having the remote content placed on my own domain, and yet I still fear the move. I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like to remain part of this family without dealing with the more troublesome aspects of the family dynamics. Is that allowed?
